Lyric Medley Tag | Weekend Extra

image

That’s right! The super exciting Weekend Extra is a tag!

Which probably isn’t quite as exciting as I made it out to be.

Very big thank you to my good friend, the lovely Rachel from Stained Glass Windows, for tagging me!

So, here’s what I have to do:

1. Thank and link back to the person who tagged you.
2. Make a collage that represents your taste in music (or, if you don’t feel like it, you can use mine) to go along with with your tag post.
3. List 10 song lyrics (along with song titles and artist) and their genres to go with and emotion/scenario (you can come up with your own or use the ones that the person who who tagged you used).
4. Tag at least 5 bloggers

Step one is done and dusted, so here’s step two:

Tenth Avenue North | Hawk Nelson | Gungor | Casting Crowns | Britt Nicole | Owl City | Jamie Grace | Matthew West | Mandisa
This is mostly in no particular order, other than the first one being big since they are definitely my favourite band. Otherwise, it’s just random.

Step two is done, so on to step three. I’m using a combination of Rachel’s emotions/scenarios and my own ones. I’ll link the music/lyric video (if there is an ‘official’ one) to each one. Unfortunately, I’m useless knowing what genre things are. So I’m leaving that bit out.

1. Song that makes me want to cry
(I could literally write this whole list of ten just with this one. But I’m going with this one, because of the story that goes with it. I’ll link that here.)
Cinderella | Steven Curtis Chapman
So I will dance with Cinderella
While she is here in my arms
‘Cause I know something the prince never knew
Oh I will dance with Cinderella
I don’t want to miss even one song
‘Cause all too soon the clock will strike midnight
And she’ll be gone

2. Song that makes me feel battle-ready
Born For This | Mandisa
Sometimes you gotta go, uninvited
Sometimes you gotta speak when you don’t have the floor
Sometimes you gotta move, when everybody else says you should stay
No way, no, not today
You gotta ask, if you want an answer
Sometimes you gotta stand apart from the crowd
Long before your heart could run the risk
You were born for this
You were born for this

3. Song that makes me think of summer
On Top of the World | Imagine Dragons
‘Cause I’m on top of the world, ‘ay
I’m on top of the world, ‘ay
Waiting on this for a while now
Paying my dues to the dirt
I’ve been waiting to smile, ‘ay
Been holding it in for a while, ‘ay
Take you with me if I can
Been dreaming of this since a child
I’m on top of the world.

4. Song that makes me feel calm
Times | Tenth Avenue North (this is my favourite song)
I hear you say my love is over, it’s underneath
It’s inside, it’s in between
The times you doubt me, when you can’t feel
The times that you question is this for real?
The times you’re broken, the times that you mend
The times that you hate me and the times that you bend
Well, my love is over, it’s underneath
It’s inside, it’s in between
These times you’re healing and when your heart breaks
The times that you feel like you’re falling from grace
The times you’re hurting, the times that you heal
The times you go hungry and attempted to steal
In times of confusion, in chaos and pain
I’m there in your sorrow under the weight of your shame
I’m there through your heartache, I’m there in the storm
My love I will keep you by my power alone
I don’t care where you fall, where you have been
I’ll never forsake you, my love never ends
It never ends

5. Song that makes me smile
Dream For You | Casting Crowns
So come on, let Me dream, let Me dream for you
I am strong when you’re weak and I’ll carry you
So let go of your plan, be caught by My hand
I’ll show you what I can do
When I dream for you
I have a dream for you

6. Song that makes me want to dance
Geronimo | Sheppard
Can you feel it?
Now it’s coming back we can steal it.
If we bridge this gap,
I can see you
Through the curtains of the waterfall.

7. Song that I have to sing along to
Just Getting Started | Hawk Nelson
It’s time to show the world
What they’ve waited for
Something like they’ve never seen before
Whooaaa
We’re just getting started
We’re just getting started
Reaching for the stars
We’ll raise our colors high
We’ve come so far
Whooaaa
We’re just getting started
We’re just getting started

8. Song that makes me feel empowered
House of Mirrors | Tenth Avenue North
Come on, come on
Let’s throw our mirrors down
Come on, come on
Let’s shatter the glass on the ground
Oh, oh
Freedom’s waiting for you now
So come on, come on
Throw your mirrors down

9. Song that has a bittersweet meaning to me
Don’t Stop the Madness | Tenth Avenue North
Don’t stop the madness
Don’t stop the chaos
Don’t stop the pain inside of me
Do whatever it takes to give me your heart
And bring me down to my knees, Lord

10. Song that I want at my wedding (basically favourite love song but I wanted to keep the wording the same)
Whatever Forever | Sheryn Binks
I’m so glad that I found you,
or you found me or whatever
& I think we have
something I could sing about forever

Now that I’ve done that, I’ve remembered a whole heap of artists that I wanted on my collage. But oh well.

And if you can’t tell, I like Tenth Avenue North a lot.

Finally, step four. This is the part where I am supposed to tag people, since, you know, this is a tag. But I’m fairly new in the blogging world, so I don’t know very many bloggers.

Here’s what we’ll do: if you are reading this, you have a blog, and you haven’t done this tag, then I tag you! You have been tagged to do this, following the same steps I did. If you do do the tag, please let me know! I would love to see what you wrote.
